This part deals with the terminal or end rig.By that the part from the lead to the hook is meant.
There are some different types of rigs.

• The confidence rig
• The hair rig
• The bolt rig
• The helicopter rig

The confidence rig

The confidence rig tries to avoid everything that would make the Carp suspicious.
A freerunning ,small lead,a small hook totally covered with the bait.This rig will work well in
waters fished for Carp the first time;where the Carp are not fished heavily or for a long time.It
will produce clear runs good to pull in,as long as the Carp are not caught so often that they will learn to avoid the bait.Then you will get "twitcher" when that happens it´s time to change the
rig to get full runs again.

The hair rig

The hair rig is the logical development after the confidence rig.It´s to fool the Carp,because the
bait can move more naturally.Also it is easier to set the hook because no bait is on it.The rest
of the rig is similar to the confidence rig.Changes become neccessary if the twitchers start
again. It was invented in the 70´s by Len Middleton. Since then it has not changed much.
First the hair was a very thin mono tied to the hook,now the hair is tied by the hook length
to the hook without a real knot.

The bolt rig

The next step in the rig development.It´s similar to the confidence rig but the the lead is heavier
and fixed,also the hook length is shorter.So the hook is set before the Carp moves a lot and
the hooking rate rises.Don´t use this rig as a starting point in a water fished for Carp
the first time.As I tried to show the rig is a development so when you start with the latest high
end rig what will you use when you get twitchers?

The helicopter rig

The helicopter rig is an advanced bolt rig,Here the lead is much heavier and set to the end of
the line and the hook length is a lot shorter.The rig is good for long range,because provides
for fewer tangles.It´s the latest rig developed,all rigs you can see in magazines are changes of
the listed rigs especially in the hook and the way to tie it to the line.

Just some words about changing the rigs.You don´t have to change the rig as first step when
you get twitchers.First change the bait,if you use boilies change to particles.When the twitchers start again change the sort of particle and as the last thing to change ,change the rig.
